Pair of 36"x46" Antique Windows w/Clear Glass. Lovely pair of antique windows salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Each window sash is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and has a single, clear glass lite/pane. One of the glass lites is slightly wavy, while the other isn't. The wooden frame or sash of each window is painted white on both sides.
We could either completely strip the paint, or prep the surface of the windows for a fresh coat of paint. On the exterior side of both windows, the glass is secured by glazier's putty. About half of the original putty is still intact; you'll need to glaze the rest. The streaks you see on the glass are the result of poor cleaning not any flaws with the glass. They will be crystal clear after a proper cleaning.
The only flaw to report is a slight separation in the upper corner of one of the sashes (see close up). The corner is still tight, so the split is more of a cosmetic blemish. Otherwise, the window sashes or frames just have the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on old, used, architectural elements. These blemishes will be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. There is no rot, warp, broken or loose joints, or any other serious flaws. He glass is fully intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches.
Are the windows too short, too narrow, or both? We could increase the size by a few inches. Each window : 18 1 / 8 " W x 45 7/ 8 " H.Glass : 14 1 /4 " W x 40 3/4 " H. The item "Pair 36x46 Antique Vintage Old Solid Wood Wooden Sash Window Glass Cabinet Door" is in sale since Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
